The number 8 of Educazione Aperta aims to give space to pedagogical reflections from conflict and post-conflict situations. What resources can education leverage in situations characterized by violence, oppression and human rights violation? Which actors does education involve in such situations? What meaning and faces does education assume in these settings? What methods have been used to ensure access to education in war situations? How can formal and non-formal pedagogical approaches contribute to building peace and reconciliation in societies torn by violence? The word “conflict” is here used with the specific meaning of armed conflict. However, we intend to explore the value and effectiveness of nonviolent and participatory methodologies arising in armed conflict that can lead to transformative processes also in other settings.

Proposals must be sent to no later than 15th of October and may be in Italian, English, Spanish, French or Portuguese.
